Experts from global travel data provider OAG have published Megahubs 2023

The most developed international air networks according to the market ranking of the world's 50 largest airports.

London Heathrow Airport took the first place in the ranking. It should be noted that 50% of the flights at this airport are carried out by British Airways. New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport is in second place.

TOP-20 includes seven airports in the Asia-Pacific region. Kuala Lumpur Airport rose to 4th place despite not even being in the TOP-10 in 2019, followed by Tokyo Haneda (HND) in 5th position.

About 34% of flights to Kuala Lumpur, the main hub of the region, are operated by AirAsia.

The highest share of capacity by low-cost carriers was in South Asia at 63%, followed by Southeast Asia at 53%. Kuala Lumpur (KUL) ranks first with 11,188 possible low-cost airlines to over 100 destinations.
