Which countries have more tourists than locals. To do this, experts compared the most visited cities and countries with a permanent population in each of them.
Austria took first place in the ranking with an average of 3.6 foreign visitors per inhabitant. The country has a population of 8.9 million, but annually receives 31.9 million travelers from all over the world.
Hong Kong is in second place, with 3.8 tourists per inhabitant, and Greece is third with 3 travelers per resident.
In addition, the Thai islands of Phuket and Krabi, as well as the city of Pattaya, have become the most popular points on the world map for tourists. Moreover, all these destinations are among the most popular in the world, but Thailand itself is relatively low in the ranking of the most popular countries.
