The British publication INDEPENDENT names Batumi among the 10 best summer tourist destinations

"10 Inspirational Ideas for Active Travelers" - In an article published under this title, the highly rated online publication INDEPENDENT recommends active travelers to spend summer in Batumi along with other European countries. In the list of European countries, Batumi ranks second next to France, Portugal, Spain, Croatia and Switzerland.

Tornike Rizhvadze focused on the positive dynamics of tourism compared to 2019 at the meeting of the Adjara government . According to him, the number of visits to Batumi International Airport has increased and the increase is 53% , and compared to last year 2022 , the increase is more than 17% .

The chairman of the government spoke at the "World Travel Awards" European award ceremony, which Batumi will host on September 30 of this year .

More than 300 representatives of leading tourism industry companies, hotels, travel agencies, business and state organizations, as well as international media from different countries of the world will attend the European gala ceremony of the event known as the Oscar of tourism in the world.

It should be noted that last year, Batumi won the prestigious award of the World Travel Awards as the fastest growing tourist destination in Europe and then in the world.

Tornike Rizhvadze assessed the economic trends at the government session. According to him, the budget of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in the first quarter was exceeded by 120% , which is a 20% increase, accordingly, tax revenues have increased in all directions, which indicates a positive dynamic, which is reflected in the growth of both business and jobs.
